Hello from the wilds of Madison!

The last year-and-a-half has be strange for everyone. The pandemic has forced many of us to completely rethink our lives and careers. I’m no exception.

Covid-19 brought live performing and touring to a grinding halt. At first I was angry about it. When this mess started I had just finished booking the best tour of my career. I would have had nearly three thousand dollars worth of work in the last week of September and the first week of October in 2020. I would have been traveling heavily throughout Michigan and Pennsylvania.

As the pandemic wore on I realized that it wasn’t all bad. I’m sixty-eight years old. Spending that much time on the road, seeing almost nothing but interstate highways and the insides of hotel rooms, was nowhere near as much fun as it used to be. In my youth I could drive for eight hours, shower, change clothes, and jump right into a one hour performance and not be tired. Now my top time for driving is five hours. Even that is pushing the limits. Then I need a nap before I can shower, change clothes, and do a show.

So, I’ll be spending less time touring in the future. I won’t give it up completely because I’m nothing if not a shameless ham (not to be confused with a boneless ham). But, I’m finding other ways to make a living that don’t involve so much traveling. One of those is noted below. The other is doing voiceovers. I can, for the most part, work from home doing that.

I have a couple of projects pending, in that vein, which I’ll post here later in the month, after everything is finalized. I will be touring lightly in 2022 if for no other reason than the fact that it will be my fiftieth year as an entertainer. I can’t pass up an opportunity like that.

Meanwhile, I hope that whatever changes you’ve been through during this difficult time will work out to be exactly what you needed to have happen (if not exactly what you thought you wanted).

Look! There's something new!

The Other Big News!

My other art form is cartooning! I've done a lot of it over the years. Now my crazy gags are available on all kinds of products; coffee mugs, t-shirts, hoodies, greeting cards, and more. You can even get shower curtains and bathmats! Just click the link on the top of this page that says, "Look! There's something new!" You'll get a chuckle and they make great gifts!

Joke of the month:

1st Guy: (angrily) Wearing this mask is a big pain in the ass!

2nd Guy: (rolling his eyes) Then you're probably not wearing it right.
